Champions for Life is excited to announce that Sophie Riskie will be joining us as our primary instructor for the winter session Field Hockey Clinic at the CFL Sports Center on March 2. Sophie is the assistant coach of the women's field hockey team at Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva. She holds Level II coaching accreditation through USA Field Hockey, and she has served as a head coach in the USA Field Hockey Futures program since 2012 and also has served as a selector for USA Field Hockey regional events. While at William Smith, Sophie was the most dominant offensive player in William Smith history, where she broke the Heron career records for goals (89), assists (39), and points (217). She was a three-time NFHCA All-American and a four-time All-Liberty League selection. The conference leader in goals scored in each of her four seasons, Riskie recorded a school record 70 points as a senior. Among NCAA Division III all-time leaders, she ranks 16th in career points, and 18th in career goals.. She grew up in Central New York, in Port Byron, where she was a standout high school player.
The clinic will cost $30 if you register in advance. It includes two hours of instruction from Sophie, and a t-shirt. To get the size shirt you want, you need to have your registration in by 2/25/19! If you are a member of our CFL Field Hockey League, you get $5 off (only $25!)! Everyone who registers on the day of the clinic will pay $30, and while you will get a t-shirt, it will be the following week.
