Welcome to the CFL ACRO Program!
AcroDance, or Acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique, tumbling skills along with the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, Acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension work with acrobatic movements in a dance context.
Here at Champions For Life we have certified AcroDance and Dance instructors who teach our Acro Students. AcroDance Classes teach balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength. AcroDance has been seen on popular shows such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance,” Dancing With The Stars,” “America’s Got Talent,” ‘Dance Mom’s” and is also seen at many dance or talent competitions. AcroDance is a high energy, fun class that our students love and get excited for every week. This class is great for dancers, cheerleads, and for those athletes who want to expand into something new.
KINDER Acro: AGES 3 - 5
This program is designed for children ages 3 - 5, and is broken down into developmentally appropriate divisions that focus on age specific skill sets. Students will enter the gym independently, further develop their fine and gross motor skills, and learn more about body control. Children will learn introductory Acro body shapes including basic tumbling and kinesthetic awareness. At the same time, children will learn how to be in class, develop their focus, listening, and cooperative skills. This class is high energy and fun!
School Age Acro: AGES 6 - 11
School Age AcroDance is a complement to dance programming at Champions for Life, but can also be taken independently if not registered for Dance. Classes will be based on age, but depending on experience, children may be moved to beginner or junior classes at the discretion of the instructor. Please register according to your child’s age.
In this class your young acrobatic will work on body control, spacial awareness, flexibility, strength, conditioning, basic partnering and tumbling skills. Students will learn how to use choreography with tumbling/Acrobatic tricks, floor work transition skills, partnering, and prop work.
